Along with Alison's experience working with institutions and agencies--which will address the financial aspects of this position--I appreciate her professional immigration and child advocacy experience that will enrich the board's resources. A lack of meaningful connection and sense of belonging touches all students in our modern world, not just immigrants, and her focused, respectful insights into this might help bring all of us together just a bit more. Furthermore, as a problem-solver Alison doesn’t appear driven by a political agenda at the expense of respectful dialog, accurate information gathering, and effective decision-making. Parenting and supporting the quest for meaningful post-graduation lives for our students can be a stressful path. Teachers, students, and families all benefit by having thoughtful representation to calm us down.
